この記事では、外国人デザイナーとして日本の企業に就職して研修を受けた経験をお話したいと思います。
私はロシア人の両親を持ち、リトアニアで生まれ育ちました。
そのおかげで、子供の頃から異文化に興味を持ち、他言語を学ぶことは私にとって自然なことでした。
そして空手を始めたことから日本語を学習し、今は日本に住んでいます。
リトアニアにいた時にグラフィックデザイナーの学士号を取得しましたが、その時はデザイナーとしての旅が始まったばかりだとは知りませんでした。
Hello. my name is Anastacia. This time I would like to share my experience about my work and training as a foreign designer in a Japanese company. I am a Russian who was born and lived in Lithuania. Thanks to that I have had an interest in different cultures since my childhood. It started from learning karate and the Japanese language then ended up living in Japan. I got my graphic designer bachelor when I was in Lithuania, but I didn’t know at that time that my journey as a designer only began.
社内研修はどうだったか？（how did the training go）
チラシ作成からアプリケーションプロジェクトのデザイン業務分担までさまざまな課題をもらい、改善点を細かく何度も指導されたことで、短期間でデザインを見る目が養われました。
ランディングページのファーストビューの例を2つ紹介します。
上司のアドバイスのおかげで、デザインを向上させることができました。

シードライブで働き始めた頃は初めての業界で右も左もわからない状態でしたが、上司や同僚ができる限り丁寧に説明してくれたことに感謝しています。
研修期間中は、日本のデザイン文化について学ぶことができ、とても楽しかったです。
そして、自分のスキルを大きく進化させることができました。
大学で勉強することと、実際に仕事にすることは、全く異なると知り、自分のミスを研修の段階で上司に指摘してもらえてとても嬉しかったです。
There are two examples of the first view of landing pages.
Thanks to multiple advice of my superior, I was able to make them look much better. I received different tasks from leaflets to application projects to try out, and my superior patiently pointed out even the smallest details that needs correction. this helped me to see my mistakes in no time. When I started to work in the “Cdrive” company I was clueless about what I needed to do and how to handle tasks. I am very grateful to my colleagues and managers for having so much patience to explain everything as detailed as possible. I had so much fun time learning about Japanese design culture during the training period. And I managed to evolve my skills a lot. The things we study at universities and facing the actual job is a different reality. These things I was able to understand only during training and I was so glad that mistakes I made were corrected by my superior, not the client.
大変だったことは？（hardships）
シードライブに入るまでデザイナーとしての実務経験がなかったので、ワークフローがどのようになっているのかわかりませんでした。
私はもともとパッケージデザインを専攻していたので、WEBデザインを0から学ばなければなりませんでした。
Adobe XDの活用や、HTMLやCSSなどの基礎知識の勉強。
さらに社内で使うツールにも慣れる必要がありました。
また、アジアとヨーロッパのデザインがこんなにも違うとは思っていませんでした。
これが私にとっての大きな壁となりました。（詳しくは今後の記事で。）
I didn’t have any working experience as a designer before coming here, which is why I didn`t have any idea how does the workflow really look like. Originally I studied package design, so didn’t know anything about WEB design. I had to start learning about HTML, CSS, and WEB design programs like Adobe XD from scratch. Moreover, I had no idea that the design in Asia and Europe differ in so many ways. And this became my main obstacle.
自分のデザインの中で何が変わってきたか？
（What has changed in my own design?）
左は、大学時代に作ったバナー、右は会社での研修中に作ったバナーです。
研修前まではグラフィックデザイナーとしての基本的なスキルが不足していると感じていました。
しかし今回の研修の中で、デザインの考え方に関する自分の認識を見直すことができました。
日本にきてデザインをして、一番変わったのは自分のスタイルかもしれません。
色使いやテキストの配置に関して、より日本のWEBデザインの傾向をつかむことができました。
今の自分のデザインは、以前よりも意味のあるものになっていると思います。
これまでは色や形、フォントなどをあまり考えていなかったので、少しずつですが効果的に扱うセンスを養うことができています。
On the left, you can see the banner which I made during my university time. On the left is the banner I made during my training in the company. Because I’m doing design for Japan now, so probably the biggest change was my style. However, I felt that I had lack of skills generally as a graphic designer. After training, I was able to see my own mistakes that I have been making for a long time during my university time. I believe that my design now is more meaningful than before. I didn’t think about colors, shapes, and fonts that much before, so now I am gradually able to develop my sense of it.
一番学んだことは？（What did I learned the most?）
研修期間中に学んだことはたくさんありました。
その一つ一つが今後の仕事にとても重要だと思っていますが、それぞれの国には独自の文化があり、デザインもその一部であると知ったことが最も重要な経験でした。
それについて紹介したいことがたくさんありますので、次回からは日本とヨーロッパ諸国のデザインの違いについて詳しく記事にしていきたいと思います。
There were so many things that I learned during that period. I believe each of them is very important for my future work but, generally speaking, as I mentioned above, the most important experience was to know that each country is unique in its culture and design is a part of it. There are so many things that I could say about that, so I decided to make an article about detailed design differences in Japan and European countries.
